Description

Girl Guides Australia is one of the largest organisations in Australia for girls and young women. It provides leadership and personal skills development to its 30,000 members, including 22,000 youth members.

We provide a non-formal educational program that is dynamic and flexible while offering values based training in life skills, decision making and leadership. The Australian Guide Program is delivered to girls by trained volunteer leaders.

Our Mission is to enable girls and young women to grow into confident, self respecting, responsible community members.

CARINGBAH GIRL GUIDES

Caringbah District Girl Guides have two units – Brownie Guides and Guides. Both meet each week during the school term at the local Guide Hall located Jacaranda Road, Caringbah (beside the YMCA).

** Brownie Guides (7-11 years) Thursday 5.30 – 7pm

** Guides (11-14 years) Friday 6.45 – 8.30pm

Caringbah Guides are involved in a wide range of exciting activities, just a few of which are:

Outdoor challenges – camping (indoors and outdoors), archery, abseiling, bushwalking, campfire songs!
Learning new skills like leadership, knotting, teamwork, cooking over an outdoor fire, canoeing and self confidence
Community action projects such as Daffodil Day, sleeping under the stars for Youth Off The Streets, Clean Up Australia Day, collecting clothes for the Smith Family from the City2Surf, raising money and buying presents for the Kmart Wishing Tree Appeal

But there’s more to being a Guide than just having a good time!

Guiding provides opportunities for girls to be challenged by new experiences, make their own decisions, develop self-awareness, self-respect, self-confidence and to DO THEIR BEST!

Cost:

Annual membership fee to Guides NSW of $125 (includes insurance for member)

Reasonably priced term fees for activities and crafts approx $30-35

We’d love to have you visit – girls can attend two meetings for free at absolutely no obligation.
