‘3D’ Hands

Requirements: Pens/textas, pencil, paper, a hand!

These are so clever and tricky. Teach your kids about optical illusions by making these simple ‘3D’ hand prints.

Instructions:

  1. Trace around a hand with fine pencil.
  2. Start at the wrist section and draw a horizontal line but when it gets to the fine pencil tracing, draw a small arch to the other side of the pencil tracing.
  3. Continue this the whole way up the hand at about 1-2 cm intervals and draw arches where ever the horizontal line meets the pencil tracing, including over each finger.
  4. Once the ‘foundation’ lines have been drawn, complete more lines in colour, following the horizontal and arch pattern that has been created.
