Henry Kendall Cottage & Historical Museum
25-27 Henry Kendall Street , West Gosford NSW 2250
Description
Henry Kendall Cottage and Historical Museum is in West Gosford and is owned by the all volunteer Brisbane Water HIstorical Society.
We have a heritage stone cottage built in the 1830.s which was once the home of the well known poet Henry Kendall, the author of Bellbirds. The cottage is furnished as an old farm cottage. There is also a separate Historical Museum containing lots of fascinating artefacts such as old household items, a two-seater horse buggy, musical instruments and even an old printing press. Behind the Museum is a farm slab shed with many items to do with timber getting, growing citrus and a blackmith’s forge as well as old farm machinery.
The cottage is set on two and a half acres of parklike grounds and visitors are welcome to have a picnic in the grounds.
The Cottage and Museum has disabled access and toilets.
