The Balmain Art and Craft Show is an annual two day event with something for everyone. Art, craft, growers markets, entertainment and kids carnival for children of all ages.
ARTS – We are delighted to be exhibiting over 350 works in in this year’s Balmain Art & Craft Show. The Show is now in its 19th year and is firmly established as the premier Inner-West artistic and community event.
The Balmain Arts & Craft Show 2014 featured artist is Michael Snape – Painter, sculptor and draughtsman Michael Snape has held exhibitions since 1974 in Sydney and Melbourne. He works across an array of media, including stainless steel and wood panel to create scenes of collective human movement and abstracted animal forms.
In addition to works by Michael Snape, we are pleased to have some amazing pieces from other leading artists including John Olsen, Tjala Arts, Sharon Candy, Doreen Shaw, Hiske Weijers, Elle Gahan, Kate Clarkson and Anita Gerega.
With over 60 artists exhibiting at this years show, there is certain to be something for every budget and taste.
CRAFT – The Artisan & Craft Market will be showcasing exciting exhibitors, new and returning. Treat yourself or fill those Christmas stockings!
We are excited to introduce new exhibitors to the market this year with gorgeous hair accessories and décor by Maisie May, whimsical children’s prints by Wise Willow Tree, panama hats by Edwin Perez, vintage t-shirts by Rellek Co and many more.
Some of your favourite exhibitors will also be returning; Jewellers Kuh-Ler-Fuhl, Six and Co, ceramics from Turklaz Motif, and Ann Wass with decorative door knobs and homewares.
ENTERTAINMENT – This year we will have a dedicated Entertainment Quarter including a stage where sewing demonstrations, workshops and a mix of other activities will keep everyone entertained.
KIDS – The kids carnival this year features a rock climbing wall, to dunk tank and jumping castles as well as other fun activities such as; making your own bath bomb, terrarium, building a bird house, painting and much more.
FOOD – Relax with a coffee and snack while the kids play in our carnival and craft area or meet friends for a bite to eat with an extensive menu available. Plus all the usual fare like sausage, bacon and egg rolls, traditional Turkish kebabs, meze plates, sandwiches from Victoire and other tasty treats. Come and join us for Yum Cha Saturday and Sunday between 10am and 2pm.
