Our aim is to educate everyone about our own National Gemstone, and the gemstone of NSW….Black opal. Found in Lightning Ridge, it is one of the most mysterious stones in the world. We mine 100% of our opals and have done for 18/23 and 29 years. We offer an advisery service to visitors. Come in and find out why Black opal is called ‘Black opal’, how it is mined, how it is washed, cut and polished. See our fossils and specimens…they will blow your mind. If you go fossicking, bring your treasures in for us to evaluate them for you. Advise you what you can do with your pieces and how to go about it. We feel the more people that understand opals, the more people will fall in love with them.
