The Kempsey Hornets Football Club was established in 1970 as the first soccer club on the Macleay. We initially catered to students of West Kempsey Primary School and were known as The West Kempsey Soccer Club. Our club soon grew in size and began catering for male and female players from all over the Macleay Valley leading to a name change in 1990 to “The Hornets”.

Our club was the first Macleay Valley Club to introduce female players into their own competition. Today we have males and females playing in all age groups from rooball 6 years to 9 years and male and female competitive teams from 10 years to Adult.

In 2007 our club had 203 registered players in 16 teams to play the season and our club continues to grow.
